Guy Fieri has driven all over Michigan in his classic red car over the years visiting more than a dozen eateries and even shot an episode with Kid Rock.
From mouth-watering barbecue and burgers to pizza and the “Most Macked Mac and Cheese,” these are all of the Michigan restaurants featured by Fieri on his show.
This diner is known for its breakfast dishes like Green Eggs and Ham, Huevos Rancheros, B.L.A.T.+C Omelette and Gingerbread Waffle. There’s also salads, sandwiches and a few dishes like its Lemongrass Faux Bowl with Thai chili infused broth and its Fire-Breathing Dragon noodle bowl.
Located at 22950 Woodward Avenue in Ferndale, The Fly Trap is open Monday – Wednesday from 8am – 4pm, Thursday – Sunday from 8am – 8pm.
Everyone is Polish at this restaurant. Located at 2990 Yemans Street in Hamtramck, the Polish Village Cafe serves authentic dishes like pierogis, stuffed cabbage, potato pancakes, kielbasa, schnitzels, dill pickle soup, chicken, meatballs, pork chops and more.
The restaurant is open Monday – Saturday from 11am – 9pm and on Sunday from Noon – 8pm.
Owned by the same family since 1960, this place is famous for its deep fried chicken gizzards. Joe’s Gizzard City also serves up chicken dinners, hot sandwiches, hand battered onion rings, poutine, nachos, fish and burgers.
Joe’s is located at 20 West Main Street in Potterville. It’s open Monday – Saturday from 10:30am – 10pm and on Sunday from Noon – 10pm.
Known as Ann Arbor’s oldest hamburger stand since 1953, along with burgers, Krazy Jim’s serves steak-cut fries, onion rings, chicken, fish and chili.
Located at 304 South Ashley Street, Krazy Jim’s is open Tuesday – Sunday from 11am – 9pm.
One of the more popular pizza places in Detroit, Supino Pizzeria is known for its New Haven-style pizza. Supino serves both red and white pizza and dessert.
There are two locations: 2457 Russell Street at Eastern Market and 6519 Woodward Avenue in Detroit’s New Center area. The Eastern Market location is open Wednesday – Sunday from 10am – 9pm. The New Center location is open Monday – Thursday from 11am – 10pm and Friday and Saturday from 11am – 11pm.

Located down the street from each other at 54 South Main and 18 South Main in Clarkston, the Clarkston Union serves burgers, salads, sandwiches, sausages, meatloaf and a pot pie. The Union Woodshop is known for its barbecue chicken, ribs and brisket. It also serves pizza, salmon and pork chops.
The Woodshop is open Tuesday – Thursday and Sunday from 4pm – Midnight and on Friday and Saturday from 4pm – 2am. The Clarkston Union is open Monday and Tuesday from 3pm – 9pm, Wednesday – Saturday from Noon – 9pm and Sunday from 9am – 2pm and 3pm – 8pm.
This Mediterranean grill says its shawarma slowly roasted on a vertical broiler is its top seller. It also serves kafta, kabobs, lamb chops, salmon, hommous, tabbouli and gyros.
Zaytoon has locations at 940 Elmwood Road in Lansing and at 1979 North Aurelius Road in Holt. Both locations are open Monday – Saturday from 11am – 8pm.
“If you’re looking for a salad, you came to the wrong place,” reads a quote on this popular Lansing barbecue joint’s website. Meat is known for its smoked meats including pulled chicken, pulled pork, beef brisket, turkey and Texas hot link sausage.
It also has what it calls its “Ultimate Carnivore Food Challenge.” If you can eat The Boss Logg with one side and mac ‘n cheese, you’ll get the meal for free along with a t-shirt, a free beer and your photo on the wall. The Boss Log is eight layers of meat on a bun along with fries, gravy, cheese, jalapenos and egg.
Located at 224 Turner Road, Meat BBQ is open Tuesday – Saturday from 11am – 8pm and Sunday from Noon – 5pm.
This place is also known for its barbecue in Lansing as well as its Vietnamese dishes. Capital City BBQ is located at 1026 West Saginaw Street. It’s open Monday – Saturday from 11am – 8pm.
This place is known for its wood-fired pizza. Located at 200 North Larch Street in Lansing, The Cosmos is open Monday – Thursday from 11am – 10pm, Friday from 11am – 11pm, Saturday from Noon – 11pm and Sunday from Noon – 10pm.
“You buy it, we grill it or fry it.” Along with BYOF, this place serves catfish, tilapia, perch, cod, smelt, wings and tenders, shrimp dinners, chicken dinners, cheese curds, burgers, frog legs, alligator tail and more.
Located at 417 East Kalamazoo Street in Lansing, Eastside Fish Fry and Grill is open Sunday – Thursday from 11am – 10pm and Friday and Saturday from 11am – 1am.
Originally launched as Michigan’s first farm to truck food truck in 2011, The Purple Carrot closed in 2020. On its website, it says you can still find some of its recipes and food at Red Haven pop-up dinners and special events.
Also featured on “Diner’s, Drive-Ins and Dives” was Rosie’s Diner in Rockford, which relocated to Muskegon, but has since closed, the Michigan Brewing Company in Webberville, which closed 10 years ago and Traffic Jam & Snug in Detroit, which burned down this past May.
