Homemade Irish Cream

Baileys lovers, we’re about to change your life: It’s surprisingly easy to make homemade

Irish cream right at home. All you need are 5 ingredients and a blender to create this sweet and creamy liqueur. Once you make it, your options are endless. From desserts to classic cocktails, you can use this homemade Irish cream to add a boozy, sweet boost to countless recipes. Here’s everything you need to know:

What is Irish cream?
Irish cream is a liqueur made from whiskey, half & half, and sweetened condensed milk, sweetened with cocoa powder and vanilla extract (think Baileys). It’s rich, creamy, and decadent, and adds a sweet and boozy punch to anything you add it to.

How to make homemade Irish cream:
To make homemade Irish cream, all you need are 5 ingredients: whiskey, half & half, sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, and vanilla. The best part? The process is ridiculously easy. Throw everything into a blender and mix until combined—that’s it!

The best whiskey for Irish cream:
We suggest using Jameson Irish whiskey. You can branch out, but we do suggest using Irish whiskey in this recipe. Use your favorite, or check out our list of the best Irish whiskey brands for inspo.

How to use Irish cream:
Truthfully, homemade Irish cream is amazing on the rocks, but it’s also delicious added into almost anything. We love it in coffee, cocktails (of course), slushies, milkshakes, and even baked goods. Basically, use it in any recipe you’d normally use Baileys—from Baileys cocktails to Baileys desserts. Here are some of our favorite ideas:
Irish cream cocktails. You can’t go wrong with the Nutty Irishman, but this would also be delicious in a mudslide, frozen hot chocolate martini, or our dalgona martini.
Irish cream desserts. We love to add this to our Baileys truffles, skillet fudgy brownie pudding, Baileys chocolate cream pie, or Baileys cheesecake.

Storing Irish cream:
Once you’ve made your Irish cream, store it in an airtight container in the fridge for around 2-3 weeks. When ready to use, shake before adding!
