Resurrection rolls, also known as “empty tomb rolls,” are such a fun
Easter treat. The crescent dough is wrapped around a marshmallow, but as it bakes, the marshmallow melts and disappears, leaving a hollow inside full of a buttery, sugar syrup that makes these a pure delight. It’s a mystery and miracle all in one.
These remind me of both an extra gooey cinnamon roll center and an apple dumpling (minus the apple, of course). The dough and melted marshmallow caramelize as the rolls bake, creating a delightfully chewy glaze. It’s super-fun for the kids to help with and takes very little time to prep for an easy hosting dessert and can easily be doubled.
These are best the same day they are made and served warm. Any leftovers could be reheated to warm back through.
