Our time has come! After popping up in
McDonald’s locations around the globe, Squishmallows are finally ready to make their debut here in the U.S.
Starting December 26, the adorable stuffed toys will be available at McDonald’s locations nationwide as part of a new Happy Meal.
The can’t-miss collection includes a total of 12 Squishmallows, with one of the toys serving as a surprise mystery character. And given that Grimace just had his best year ever thanks to a viral milkshake, it should come as no surprise that the Squishmallows collection also includes a Grimace toy.
The Grimace Squishmallow can be seen sporting a pair of red headphones, and you may want to grab your headphones too because each character comes with a unique playlist. We can only imagine the tunes Grimace would be a fan of. Something does tell us that the purple character might have a few Prince songs in his playlist.
In a statement, a rep for Jazwares (the company that owns Squishmallows), expressed their excitement at finally being able to bring the Squishmallows to the U.S. Ironically, the release of the Happy Meal comes as a number of customers have become increasingly frustrated with limited-edition offerings that are only available overseas.
“The Squishmallows Happy Meal has taken the world by storm,” said Gerhard Runken, Senior Vice President of Brand & Marketing at Jazwares. “We are excited to bring the program to our millions of fans in the U.S. with fun new ways to collect and connect with the Squishmallows brand.”
