This fresh, tart cocktail is the perfect way to unwind from the holiday stress. Once the presents are wrapped and the food is ready to go, then you know: a Santa Clausmopolitan is in order. This
Christmas cocktail adds a few special, simple touches to the cosmopolitan to turn the classic cocktail into a festive winter drink. If cosmos are your go-to drink, then you’ll be able to make these clausmopolitans in your sleep (really, they couldn’t be simpler to make). Keep reading on for everything you need to know about making these festive drinks that are sure to keep you merry and bright all season long:
How to make a Santa Clausmopolitan:
It couldn’t be easier—if you can make a cosmo, you can make a claus-mo. Simply add vodka, cranberry juice, triple sec, and lime juice to a shaker with ice, then shake until thoroughly chilled and serve! If you don’t have cocktail shaker, we highly recommend adding one to your Christmas list this year. It’s functional, makes your drinks ice cold, and look stunning presented in your bar area or kitchen. If you don’t have one, then there are plenty of things that can be used as a cocktail shaker, like a large deli container or a large water bottle.
What sets this drink apart from the classic cosmopolitan is the garnish, so we highly recommend doing something special with your glass.
The garnish:
We used white sanding sugar to create our festive, “snowy” rim on our glass, and also added fresh cranberries to our glass to up the festive factor. That being said, you don’t have to stop there. Add fresh (or sugared) rosemary, sugar plums (à la our sugar plum spritz), or even a coconut rim to turn this into a Santa’s hat cocktail.
