While you probably have

your mimosa recipe down pat (mine is heavy on the champagne with just a splash of OJ), Christmas is the perfect excuse to give the classic brunch cocktail a lil update.

Enter: the Grinch Mimosa. TikTok has done what TikTok does best and created the most iconic holiday bevvy. The mastermind behind the drink, Jessica Neff, said this Grinch-inspired brunch cocktail is “SO fun” and “SO easy.”

First you’ll want to take a quick trip to the grocery (or liquor) store to stock up on necessities. Luckily, you only need three things: orange juice, blue curaçao, and champagne. To start, Neff actually filled plastic ornaments with 3 ounces of OJ and set it aside, before filling her flutes with 1/2 ounce of the blue curaçao. She topped her glasses with the juice-filled ornaments to combine the two ingredients and transform the mimosa into that perfect Grinch-green shade. To finish, you’ll add your desired amount of champagne.

For Neff, that meant less is more—which commenters on TikTok did *not* seem to agree with. “Not enough champers haha,” one user wrote, while another chimed in, “whoa the champ to juice ratio is wayyyyyy off lol.” “More alcohol please,” a third person added.

As for one person, who may or may not have nightmare in-laws, a “green SHOT for Xmas” was requested instead. Now you see why we’re assuming. “What could I mix Blue Curaçao with to get green?” they wrote in the comment section, while specifying “only” alcohol. “Any yellow alcohol that would mix well?”

According to Neff, you can use 4 ounces of midori liqueur and 4 ounces of coconut rum for an “amazing” Grinch shot.

Of course, it’s not the only Grinch-inspired cocktail you should add to your holiday happy hour roster. Our own Grinch Punch combines lemon-lime Kool-Aid mix, lemon-lime soda, pineapple juice, vodka, and ginger ale. The steps are just as simple! Combine the Kool-Aid and water in a large pitcher, add ice, soda, juice, vodka, and ginger ale, and top with a lime wedge and sugar rim.
